Lemonade Designer Wins Portrait Category

Words by Enrico Bettesworth on Jul 07, 2008

Lemonade's Senior Designer Enrico Bettesworth has been announced as the winner of the Canon/Better Photography Magazine - Portrait Category.

A Truly Professional Standard! So said judge Michael Langford after viewing the second annual Canon/Better Photography Photograph of the Year 08 Award. We had a massive response. receiving 1300 entries from over 330 photographers across three categories - Place, People and Creative - and the standard really was exceptional. Not only did the entrants excel themselves aesthetically. the overall presentation and mounting of their printed entries was of the highest standard.

Judged by - Marcus Bell, Michael Langford and Peter Eastway, all AIPP Masters of Photography and regular judges at the Canon Australian Professional Photography Awards. The competition was also judged using professional standards, meaning if a print earned a Silver (80% or higher) or Gold (90% or higher) Award here. the judges believed it would also earn a Silver or Gold at the professional Canon Australian Professional Photography Awards. While many entries were close, just 41 prints earned the incredibly high standard of Silver.

In addition to aiming for Silver, there were prizes awarded for each of the three categories. Enrico was the only Photographer to score four Silvers and will receive a subscription to Better Photography magazine as well as a Canon IXUS 97015, a highly sophisticated compact digital camera lined with Canon's Image Stabilizer technology and a 10 megapixel sensor.
