The David-inci Code - A new CSS Book on the Market.

Words by David Johnson on Apr 16, 2007

Last year Lemonade Senior developer David Johnson was asked by the team at SitePoint to contribute a chapter to their latest book entitled “The Art and Science of CSS”.

After looking in the dictionary to see what CSS was, he set about joining Cameron Adams, Jina Bolton, Steve Smith and Jonathan Snook in creating a book designed to show designers how to achieve beautiful and intricate – and above all, accessible – websites in a way that can appeal to beginners through to advanced developers.

‘The Art and Science of CSS’ covers the following topics:

  1. Format calendars, menus and table of contents using CSS
  2. Create horizontal, vertical, drop-down and tab-based navigation systems using CSS
  3. Create rounded corners using CSS
  4. Design stylish Website headings
  5. Put together funky & artistic Website backgrounds
  6. Use CSS to render blockquotes, dates and lists in a visually appealing manner
  7. Display & style images and web photo galleries

As the tagline says: Standards-based design is dull and passionless, right? Think again.
